Okello Justine the committed farmer and chairperson of Pawel farmers’ cooperative society testified that the varieties were growing well in the gardens with hopes of getting yield that doubles the usual yield from local varieties he had been growing. He called upon all farmers to practice agriculture within passion by putting more efforts in acquiring good seed, proper land preparation, timely planting at the onset of rains, early weeding using both chemical weeding and hand hoe to avoid late weeding and its associated disadvantages. He also added that application of rhizobia during planting showed him a significance difference in plant vigour which is likely to be translated into yield.
